Holker Hall includes formal and woodland areas covering 25 acres. The gardens provide interest for gardeners and non-gardeners alike throughout the season (April-October). The range of many rare and beautiful plants and shrubs is a reflection of the passion Lord and Lady Cavendish have for plants. This is combined with the benefits that come with owning a Gulf Stream garden; a factor that ensures a fantastic micro-climate for plants from throughout the world. A must see is the beautifully designed cascade imitating that in a Moghul garden. The spectacular arboretum with over 1,000 varieties, many of them very fine specimens, is also not to be missed.
